“Didn’t think you’d actually go through with the costume, though," Gale says, his eyes flicking to the bunny ears perched on John’s head.
“Yeah, well,” John glances away, then back again, staring unabashedly at Gale’s arms before meeting his eyes. “Didn’t think you’d show up looking like you’re about to close a business deal. Where’s your costume?”
Gale shrugs, moving closer, casually sliding an arm behind John. The warmth of his palm against his back is enough to cut through the noise and mess of colours and lights, and John blinks slowly when Gale’s pretty lips curve up into a smile. “Thought I could just wear you instead.”
