U-1146 was like home. If she was toast, he was honey; calm, sweet, with just enough of a zing to him that she could never be bored talking to him. He was a cup of comfortingly warm tea, never scalding but never lukewarm.
U-4989 was like a roadtrip. If she was toast, he was cinnamon; full of bold flavour, complementing what she already was. He was icecold lemonade on the hottest summer day, refreshing and rejuvenating.But the germ in front of her didn't care about honey, or lemonade, or the scream she let out as he swung his clawed appendages towards the white army.
