It was decidedly too hard to stay alive after that. Slow burn on Kurapika's end.

Summary
Kurapika is born into a quiet village on Lukso Island, but when the Lord Lucilfer declares possession of his island it sends his life into disarray. But, what might happen when the manor he's in isn't so much a prison, and the Lord he's grown to spite has unnaturally kind eyes?

“I’d feel better if you weren't holding me like that.” He said, perhaps a bit too free tongued on the booze.
Kuroro hummed, raising a brow. “Like how?” He spun him around, pulling him back into his chest. Kurapika did not stumble, but he almost did.
“Like I’m a piece of gold and you're standing in the middle of a flea market.”
Kuroro chuckled, the sound making something flutter within him.
“I might as well be,” he murmured, lips inching closer. He pulled him in, fingers tightening their grasp. “I hate the way they look at you.”Series
