I am so sorry to tell you this Peter but Wade is gone. Nine months ago he got sick. He was diagnosed with a rapidly progressive kind of cancer and given three months to live.
He left me soon after. I think you and I both know Wade never liked being seen as weak.
I didn’t have any contacts for Wade's family, nor did the military. The only person from before he ever talked about was you.
I have mailed you his dog tags. I think he would have wanted you to have them.

I looked at him and blinked. My lungs felt heavy and my jaw clenched. I swallowed slowly and blinked again. He put down his fork and licked his lips, looking into my eyes the whole while.
