It had been twelve years since he killed Voldemort. It had been twelve years since he died and came back to life. It had been twelve years since he became the Master of Death. It had been twelve years since his heart stopped beating.
Twelve years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the dead started walking. It changed very little for Harry Potter, already traveling the world alone as a grim reaper, and he swore to himself that he wouldn’t get involved beyond doing his job. He was suddenly very busy, after all. It was hard for souls to move on when their bodies were still shambling around, and there were more dead than living these days. He had already saved the world once; it was someone else’s turn.
And then he heard a little girl in the middle of a forest, screaming, sobbing, terrified, and alone as the dead cornered her.
Harry always did have a saving people thing, didn’t he?

Summary
Two and a half years after being Bitten, things are finally starting to settle enough that Alpha Scott McCall can start looking beyond his nearest neighbors and repentant enemies for alliances. Naturally, he starts with the Hale Pack; everyone in his Pack is from Beacon Hills (or has at least lived there for a while). They all miss their families, even if they honestly haven't had time to visit since everything started. For that, they need permission, and it would really be simpler for everyone if they didn't have to formally ask every time they wanted to spend the weekend in good old BH. Plus, there was the thing with Stiles.
Everything gets a bit more complicated when Alpha Hale suggests she might be interested in one of the more old-fashioned alliances.
Stiles has never been one to let an opportunity pass him by.
(This started life as "Okay, but what if Stiles volunteered to be married off" and went from there. It's two parts exposition, one part fluff, and one part me trying to avoid writing any politics in my Political Marriage!AU)

Summary
Harry Potter really didn’t plan on living past his fated confrontation with Lord Voldemort. When the latent basilisk venom and phoenix tears in his blood started making dramatic changes to his body, he wasn’t that concerned. It’s not like he was going to live long enough for it to be a problem anyway.
Even if he had planned to live past the final battle, then he could never have guessed the struggle awaiting him on the other side, or that he’d become a magnet for those with nowhere else to go like the snarky house elf, the grumpy phoenix, the injured vampire, or the stray werewolf that showed up on their doorstep…oh, and the egg. You can’t forget the egg; that’s the most important, more than anyone or anything else on the planet. Harry will do whatever it takes…literally whatever, even light the fire and watch the world burn, all for the sake of the egg.

Obviously, truth is stranger than fiction, and there’s always going to be edge cases in the real world, but for our purposes: just how realistic is Armand’s tragic backstory?
Judging by the number of retweets/reblogs on this post and others like it, fannish opinion seems to be “not very”. But honestly? It’s not that far-fetched.
