“Loki,” Mobius mumbles. He can feel his heartbeat slowing, his pulse growing sluggish. His body just feels frozen solid, now, like he’s surpassed cold and descended into a total lack of feeling.
“No, Mobius— Mobius,” Loki says sharply. “Look at me, look at me! Talk to me, stay awake— Mobius. Mobius!”
Loki sounds panicked, frantic, and Mobius wants to help, but he can’t get his head to lift or his eyes to open. He lets them stay shut; it feels like he’s floating in the frozen darkness. It’s nearly peaceful. He can’t even feel the ground beneath him anymore.
“Mobius,” Loki says again. “I’m right here, I won’t leave you. I won’t go anywhere, I’m here.” His cold lips push to Mobius’ cheek, the corner of his mouth.
