Summary
Charles is famous. It's a fact he's known ever since his first autograph five years ago. He knows he always has eyes on him, paying attention, criticizing.
But this pair of eyes feel different. They feel obsessive, lustful, depraved. And they make him uncomfortable.
Or; Charles has a stalker, Max Verstappen is his therapist, and Charles has a thing for him.

Max looked down to where Charles's gaze was fixated.
"When did you get a Daniel inspired thigh tattoo?"
"What are you on about?"
"On your thigh? The little paint splatter? Red margins fading into a mix of green and brown? Ring a bell?" Charles asked like it was the silliest question."No fucking way," Charles's eyes flew up to meet Max, who looked positively terrified.
"What is?"
"That's my birthmark you're seeing colour in, you dimwit."Charles felt a sharp blocking of his ears, followed by his vision dotting in black, the edges of darkness quickly moving inwards and taking over, his body falling forward.

Summary
It was already pretty late, so the streets were quiet. Max enjoyed the peacefulness, but on the last stretch that led to the hotel, he suddenly had the overwhelming urge to turn back.
Charles was a few meters behind him, in a mid-brisk walk. Max stopped and waited for him to catch up. He fell into step next to Max, but didn’t say anything.
Neither of them mentioned how Charles so readily put himself in between Daniel’s fist and Max’s face.
But Max didn’t think he could bring himself to thank Charles, so he didn’t.
Charles was a floor above Max again, so Max got off the elevator first. He was a few steps into the hallway when Charles finally spoke, in a voice so soft that it was almost like he didn’t really want Max to hear it.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Baku sure was a strange place for Max.
