Female Tav (second person narration) and Astarion, shifting from Tav POV to some Astarion POV. The brief instances of levity in which you can afford to appreciate the beauty hidden in this strange, precarious new world you find yourself navigating.
The moments where rubies sparkle in a new light behind a curtain of long lashes, the mischievous, twinkling stars casting a blue glow glossing off silvery hair. Pretty things seem suddenly far too intent to watch your mouth run away from you, especially where a particular traveling companion who you just can't seem to stay away from is concerned.
Can you merely be Astarion's mirror in all this? Can your honeyed words break through his bitter smiles? Or have your compliments doomed you both from the moment they left your lips?

Summary
Commander Shepard discovers a dark secret in her newest Drell companion, one that threatens her well-being and forces her to question her own morals. Despite this, she feels herself inexplicably drawn to him, much to the distress of Garrus. Meanwhile, Garrus is struggling to find himself after regaining his closest friend and upholding his obligations to the Turian hierarchy.
Takes place during ME2/ME3 and will be some combination of following the true story and major AU within the ME canon. Also, throw out all preconceived notions of canon sexualities :)

*Work in progress! I'm writing this as I feel like it, and going back to make improvements to previous chapters. It'll be my first longer work in terms of plot, but don't worry, there will still be plenty of smut ;)

Her affinity for aliens, and one renegade turian in particular, becomes a problem among human-centric politicians as humanity gains a foothold in the galaxy. As time and the fate of all organic life hangs in the balance, her entanglement with the drell who changed her life further complicates matters.
The story explores multiple motifs, including a deeper look at drell, a character study of Thane, a noir loss of innocence story for Garrus/Archangel, extended turian culture and history, and a close read of Liara's transformation into the Shadowbroker. Includes expanded lore, religion, and language within the Mass Effect Universe.
