He was just so… happy, having Shane there. Knowing he’d chosen to stay and had been willing to try something different because Ilya asked him to.
Ilya isn’t even entirely sure why he had wanted to switch roles this time. Maybe he wanted to feel something different… wanted Shane to be the one to make him feel it. Maybe he was just bored. Maybe he didn’t want the only time to have been with someone who was not Shane.

Something is weird with Shane’s body this season.
It's on his list to see the team doctor about. Though on the other hand, maybe it would clear up in the next week and the doctor would tell him that he was overreacting, that he should just drink more water or something.
