Summary
Remus was fine. Absolutely, undeniably, irrevocably fine. Sure, he had just had the worst sleep of his life. Sure, he had woken up multiple times, either drenched in sweat or, in painful contrast, uncontrollably trembling as though his veins had morphed into pure icicles stabbing through his bloodstream. Sure, he was forced to sleep on his right side due to the fiery, unforgiving pain that plagued his left hip—which further irritated him as he could never get comfortable on the opposite side.
But he was fine. This was fine!
Sirius had been giddily badgering on about this grand idea he had for the perfect Christmassy outing for an entire week now, and there was absolutely no way Remus was going to ruin it for him by letting this whatever the hell this was get the better of him.
So — naturally — Remus completely ignored all the red flags that were desperately waving in his face, shrieking for his attention: “Open your eyes, you twit!”

Or, Remus and Sirius go on a Christmas themed date, and Remus is absolutely positive that this pain in his hip is no cause for concern.
Ultimately, he’s dreadfully wrong.

“I want you to take Regulus out on a date,” Sirius repeats casually as if he hasn’t just said the most absurd thing ever, watching the Snitch that had escaped James’ hand the second Sirius had made the ridiculous request the first time.
James stares at his best friend in disbelief, because what?
“Look, if you go on a date with Regulus, I can go out on my Moony date. My parents will realise that their stupid idea of cursing me with only getting to date once Regulus does didn’t work out because look at that, Regulus also dates! They reverse the magic, Regulus can happily go back to refusing to date anyone, I can go back happily dating Remus, and you can happily go back doing whatever you had planned to do this summer. Quidditch, I assume.”

Summary
The marauders gain a new companion on their monthly adventures around the grounds of Hogwarts. James Potter finds himself incredibly attached to his new feline friend, so when the cat stops showing up he is understandably devastated. Thankfully, Remus is full of good ideas, and putting up flyers with Whiskers’ cute fluffy face on yields a reward he could never have foreseen.

Summary
“Wh– well– why–” James stammered, attempting to get his bearings, because if he didn’t, and he let Regulus tell him ‘kiss me’ one more time, his heart would probably give out. “Why don’t you get Sirius to help?”
Regulus narrowed his eyes. “Because Sirius would just knock his teeth out,” he said as though it were obvious.
“Yes,” James hissed, “and he’ll knock my teeth out if I kiss his little brother.”
“You can take a hit, Potter, I’ve seen you on the quidditch pitch,” Regulus waved him off, and James groaned, leaning away from him.
“Oh, yeah, great, so I’m the sacrifice,” he sighed.
“Precisely,” Regulus stepped right into his space, and James felt his chest go a little hot.
