Alex’s fingers picked at the next dress she had pulled on. As she looked at her reflection she tried to remember what it felt like to pick out an outfit without the express purpose of enticing Casey. She was trying not to think about the redhead at all, actually. And failing spectacularly.
It had started easily enough. Casey and her. They were both looking for something, a distraction, a reminder that they were alive and could return to the top of their game. It didn’t hurt- Alex reflected as she threw off another dress and spun back to her closet -that Casey was gorgeous. By the time Casey had actually pressed her up against the nearest door and had her way with Alex, she’d been almost insane with wanting.
Sex with Casey was… It was like being reborn– a feeling Alex was far too accustomed to, but this time instead of rewriting who she was it was like shedding anything and everything that wasn’t innately her. But that had raised Alex’s internal alarms and by the time Casey’s smile had started to morph from promising and enticing to warm and soft Alex had already gone into panic mode.

By 8pm Manhattan will be hit with its biggest snowstorm in years. At 7:43 Benson and Stabler rope Casey into dropping off a file at Alex’s apartment on her way home. Alex who has just walked through the door from a fancy dinner uptown, and who distracts Casey long enough that uh oh what’dya know they’re snowed in. Casey who’s not gonna survive this.
