Summary
But I have to admit, however much sense it makes, that I did not and still do not like the idea that we are fated. You've had your whole life mapped out by fate, after all, but you chose me, Achilleus, and I you, and the gods may take whatever they want from us, but they cannot take this. It does not belong to them.
Or: Patroclos tells a story.

Summary
“Don’t you have a ‘look’ you like the most? Like a type of body, a type of face. Cute, sexy, stuff like that.”
“A type of…” Achilles trailed off as he thought about it. He looked at Patroclus carefully and tilted his head. “I like your face, Patroclus. Is that what you mean?”
Patroclus found himself at a loss for words, a little mystified by this entire interaction. It simply wasn’t possible that someone like Achilles didn’t have a type. Were it not for his candid tone and docile expression, Patroclus would have thought he was lying.
An idea formed in Patroclus’ mind, laughable in his absurdity, but also somewhat experimental. He wanted to test the bounds of Achilles’ seeming ‘anything goes’ approach to attraction. It was all totally out of impulse. So, when he said what he said next, he hadn’t expected him to say yes.
“Go out with me, Achilles.”
Achilles is Patroclus' younger schoolmate with an infamous reputation. Every week he'll go out with the first person to ask then break up with them on the seventh day. Patroclus decides to put this to the test. One simple question will lead them down a path that neither of them would have ever expected.

Summary
Achilles turns to look at Patroclus, his brow drawn and eyes impossibly wide. The sun catches on his face, pouring down like honey. It makes his dark eyes rich in depth, catching on the lighter hues in his hair. Achilles can see the scar above his eyebrow, paler than his skin, where he’d fallen from their favorite climbing tree as kids. Achilles had held him with blood on his fingers and realized that it would always be like that, he would never let Patroclus go, even if it stained his hands. Achilles loves him so much, it’s raw and without reason. Achilles has never known not loving him.
