Summary
Aventurine makes it out of the abyss - and into a different world. Things are different here - simpler. There are no Aeons, no intergalactic factions and corporations, no Paths and Blessings. He is not naïve enough to assume that there is no cruelty and discrimination here - for there always is - but for the most part, everything is peaceful.
Here, Aventurine's priorities are getting people's coffee orders right. Fairly straight forward, if you ask him.
Except for the bit where he is surrounded by too many familiar faces, and they remind him of a place he can no longer return to. That's okay. People come and go, and so will they.
Except for the bit where they come and go and come back.
AKA. Aventurine gets dropped into a coffee-shop AU with all the memories from before. He's handling things until he's not handling things. That's okay, because he still has friends (and Dr Ratio) in this world. He just doesn't know it yet.

Summary
His clothes cling to his sweat-covered body, and his legs struggle to not collapse on the hard steel floor. Music blares in all directions, the audience’s cheers picking up in volume, almost jeering over it fully.
With the final line screamed out in the headpiece, silence stretches over him before erupting in an even louder chorus of applauding screams. Till’s neck cramps when he turns in quivering terror, facing the blinding lights of the scoreboard.
The four letters spell a fate worse than winning or losing could ever bring upon him.
In absence of affection we will take anything and call it love.
