Summary
Candy’s always been a bit of a matchmaker. When she sees two of her friends pining for each other and neither has the nerve to do something about it, she can’t help but try and nudge them along. The last two days, she’s watched Lucifer and Chloe together, seeing how they work together. She listened to Lucifer as he fought to win back their partnership and saw how hurt Chloe was by his actions. And she does believe he was only trying to do right by the Detective; she heard it in his voice the night they drank wine and ate ice cream together.
After saying goodbye to Lucifer, Candy decides to take a detour to Chloe's apartment where she tells the Detective there's more to the situation that meets the eye. Confused but quickly reaching conclusions, Chloe in turn goes to confront Lucifer.

Summary
Something isn’t right. Call it celestial senses, but he just knows it’s all about to go to shit. Holding his breath, his eyes look from Chloe’s face to her hands which have started to shake, the tiniest tremble. She’s been utterly level-headed and steady-handed up to now, and if she’s allowing that much to show, something is terribly wrong.
“Detective.”
Her wide, fearful eyes snap to his as the bomb ticks once more—and stops. There’s an apology in her eyes, begging him to forgive her. Worse than that, he sees guilt.
When the bomb Chloe is attempting to disable goes off, Lucifer does the only thing he can do: He gets his Detective to safety.

Summary
She must zone out for a few minutes, because when Marcus curses sharply, she jolts. Everything happens too quickly from there, and yet, also like it's happening in super slow motion. The bike wobbles violently and Marcus tries to regain control. Chloe stares over his shoulder as the guardrail seems to rush at them.
When Chloe decides to let Marcus drive her home on his motorcycle, he loses control. Now she's injured and in the hospital, and the Devil is the first person at her side.
Story is complete.
