Summary
“Why do you let them treat you like that?” Mike said eventually, breaking the silence, his voice tinged with a deep sadness.
Will glanced at Mike who had his hands tightly gripping the steering wheel, staring out the front window, not looking at him.
He shrugged, “I don’t know.” He whispered, tightening his grip on his pants.
Mike glared at him, “You- you shouldn’t let them!”
Will shrugged again, curling his shoulders in at Mikes rising anger.
“It’s not right,” Mike ranted, Will’s eyes immediately pricked with tears.
He knew he wasn’t right but why did Mike have to say it?
“I’m sorry.” He said, hoarsely, hiding his face from Mike. He couldn’t see the disgust, not from Mike. “I’m sorry, you weren’t meant to see. I know it’s wrong.”
“You’re goddamn right it’s wrong.” Mike slapped the steering wheel, making Will flinch and cry in earnest. “Calling you those things, after…” Mike trailed off, inhaling deeply “Don’t let them-“
