Zack has begun to lose track of the days.
He tried to count at first. When he first opened his eyes to a blurred view of a vaguely familiar basement. Tubes and monitors and machinery lined every wall, and Zack knows the look of a Shinra lab when he sees one. After everything they did to him to turn him into a SOLDIER, how could he not?
Counting the days seemed like a simple concept. How could he lose track of something like that? The sun is– Invisible. Down here. Without windows. The calendars– aren't on the wall. The food– doesn't come. Nutrients pumped straight into his veins. Fuck this, he thinks, god-knows how many days in. I want a fucking steak.

Dylan had big plans for the night. Hang out with his boyfriend, get a little drunk, maybe something more.
Losing his hand and then fighting werewolves was certainly, 100%, not on that list.
Or: A rewrite of the Quarry if Dylan and Ryan were an established relationship bc they certainly deserve it. Mix of fluff and angst, literally just them caring about each other. A fix-it fic for our souls.
