Summary
Merlin has magic,” Uther’s words hit Merlin like a ton of bricks, the spirit disappearing as if it was never there.
Merlin closes his eyes, letting out the breath he’s been holding. He feels his back hit the door behind him, holding himself up against it. He doesn’t look at Arthur, just waits.
One breath, two breath, three breath. Nothing.
Merlin opens his eyes, looking up, half expecting Arthur to have disappeared to alert the guards. Arthur is staring at him, he is stock skill, breath coming out ragged and uneven. He looks crushed and not just from expelling his father’s spirit but that must also have contributed to it.
“Arthur,” Merlin tries, swallowing when his voice shakes with the anticipation of Arthur’s reaction.
“Is it true?” Arthur asks, his voice quiet but stern, he still holds the horn tightly in his grip by his side, his knuckles white with the force.
“Arthur I-“
“Yes or no, Merlin,” Arthur interrupts, voice suddenly louder in the empty corridor, he looks Merlin in the eye while he nods wordlessly before looking away, “you-you do. You would betray me? You?”

Summary
Arthur hates Gwaine.
Well, hate might be a strong word. Mildly despises is likely a more fitting phrase for how Arthur feels about his flippant, impulsive Knight at the Roundtable. Gwaine is one of the best Knight’s Arthur has, strong, fast and courageous to a fault. Gwaine would be easily the first to jump into a battle if he thinks any injustice is being done. That, is why Arthur keeps him around. He acts as a trial run to how Arthur’s people are going to react to every decision and decree he makes. Gwaine will argue, defend and be an all-round pain in the arse until Arthur changes his mind. Arthur, however, would never tell him what a value his council is.
Gwaine is a great, trusted Knight, but Arthur doesn’t trust him with Merlin.
OR
Arthur thinks Gwaine is trying to steal his best friend and he is not happy. Merlin gets hurt and they realise they're not so different after all.

Summary
Rewrite of Season 3 episode 4 from Gwaine's POV. This sticks very closely to what we see in the series just with a little insight into Gwaine's thoughts and feelings. With a sprinkle of Merwaine for good times!

Aaron scoffs, "Right, and you aren't?"
"No you don't get to do that, i was never a danger to you," Robert says, annoyed.
"And John is?" Aaron asks, laughing bitterly, "John isn't some monster just because I'm with him. Just because I married him."
"You're quiet around him. You never NEVER would have let me or anyone else talk to you the way he does-"
"Just stop it."
Robert cuts him off, firmly, "telling you who to speak to, where to be and when. Giving you that look when I walk into a room, like you're....you're his."
Robert tries to get through to Aaron what John is really like but will Aaron really listen to him.
