    Takes place before the wedding in Afterwards and Beyond. Mirabel was still having doubts, even in her new room with her Gift. She still found herself crying and asking why she couldn’t have gotten Isabela’s Gift, or something equally beautiful. The Miracle (Mirabel herself) unintentionally creates a world where she has the Gift she covets. Mirabel must deal with a Giftless Isabela while trying to remember to be Senorita Perfecta. Isabela does not remember her, and hates her. She has to rebuild her relationship with her hermana mayor all over again. Thankfully, Tio Bruno remembers the real world, too, so she isn’t alone in her efforts.
