“Tell me,” I say, sitting up finally, Rocky hunched between my legs, “How can I help? I want to help.”
At those words Rocky shudders.
'Help,' he sings, 'yes. Grace help. Grace good good good help.'
Okay, we’re getting somewhere, even if he’s still acting really weird. He hasn’t tried to sass me even once yet. His whole demeanor is strange.
“So there is something wrong,” I hiss, triumphant. “I knew it.”
He huffs. 'Not wrong,' he burbles. 'Meant to happen. Expected. '

Summary
Robby remembered little from his PT rotation. He knew when to refer someone to PT—strained backs or necks, for instance—but he could never guide someone through that sort of stuff. Which is why when Whitaker approaches him on a slow Thursday afternoon, he is confused to say the least.
“You want me to do…what exactly?”
Whitaker taps his fingers against the counter of the hub. “I’ve been in physical therapy for a few months,” he reiterates. “They’ve given me a bunch of stretches to do. I've been doing them, but I don't know if it's working. I mean, I don't know if I'm doing them right.”
Whitaker asks Robby for help with his physical therapy stretches, and Robby struggles to have normal feelings about his subordinate.

Summary
Robby had a bad day.
Not that there was ever a “good” day when you worked in the ER. But some days were better than others, and some days were much, much worse.
And today’s shift wasn't the worst ever. But it had come at the end of a long week that saw several patients lost and multiple breakdowns from members of his team. Robby was worn thin from dealing with it all day in and day out.
And so, when he trudged into his apartment on Friday night, he threw down his bag, slipped into a comfy pair of sweats, and opened Grindr.
