Syncopation - a deviation from the expected rhythm that creates something more dynamic and beautiful. It is the surprise beat that disrupts the monotony of one'slife and turns a simple melody into a complex, moving masterpiece.
"You're really holding it down here all on your own, huh?" Chan asked. It was just a soft observation, but it hit a nerve in Minho.
"I have to," Minho said, his voice a bit more brittle than he intended. "My ex... he didn't exactly plan for this. He didn't want a family. He found someone else who felt the same way. We were together for 3 years, but he never wanted to mark me, so..."
Heat rushed to Minho’s face. "I—I’m sorry, I don't know why I just told you all of that. That’s incredibly uncomfortable, I’m sorry."
"Minho, hey," Chan said, stepping forward. "You don't have to apologize. I’m not uncomfortable. I asked because I cared, not because I wanted a polite 'I'm fine.'"
Minho stopped moving. "I’m just... not used to people asking."
"Well, get used to it," Chan said with a gentle half-smile. "Like I told you, you've got my number. And you know I’m only a few feet away. You don't have to carry the heavy stuff alone anymore."

Summary
“I should probably start trying, shouldn’t I? To settle down. It’s not like I’m getting any younger,” Chan says. “And I think I’d be really mortified if you got married before I did.”
“Ha,” is all Minho can muster, instead of what he’s actually thinking, which is, I’m a gay Korean man in my thirties. It’s not happening for me any more than it’s happening for you.

Summary
Once Chan is out of earshot, Jisung leans forward.
“Okay,” he says. “That was weird. Are you two fighting, or something?”
Minho frowns. “You could say that.”
“Well, what the hell happened?” Jisung asks, voice climbing to a whisper-yell. “I thought things were going well.”
Again, Minho grimaces.
“Our marriage agreement is meant to end tomorrow,” he admits. “Tonight is my last chance.”
The story of the small-town boy, Lee Minho, and the handsome chaebol, Bang Chan, is a long and winding tale.
Two parallel souls meeting by chance years ago, then separated by heartbreak, they return to each other one more time out of desperation.
On the night of their 180th day of marriage, Minho takes them to his hometown for one last dinner before their arrangement ends.
