Sighing, Gwyn took a healthy gulp of her wine, then set it back down on the carpet. “All that matters to me is that he’s happy. And I’ll bet he and Elain will be very content in the Day Court. I mean, why wouldn’t they be? They’re both beautiful and kind and get along swimmingly. And Day is a beautiful place from what I’ve read.” A lump formed in her throat, but she swallowed it down. “And if he never returns, then… that’s alright.”
Nesta’s frown deepened. A crease formed between Emerie’s brows.
Gwyn tried to infuse her voice with a bit more hope. “We’re friends. I’m certain we’ll stay friends.”
Neither of the Valkyries seemed convinced. That was fair. Gwyn wasn’t convinced herself.
She sighed. “I think we just didn’t get the timing right. You know? When he was ready, I was still healing and then I… I waited far too long to tell him about the bond. And…”
At that Nesta shook her head. Emerie murmured something that sounded like ‘unbearably optimistic…’
Gwyn couldn’t help but laugh softly at just how despondent her two friends were on her behalf. “Listen, it’s alright,” she placated. “I am absolutely fine. -

My contribution for Gwynriel weeks features dark Gwyn and Gwynsand friendship:
“I understand you want to save Azriel, but I won’t let you sacrifice Valkyrie troops in the high of your mate-induced anxiety so you can hate yourself for it later.”
Mate-induced anxiety? What the hell was that? Whatever anxiety Gwyn felt was the result of the other half of her soul being held by Koschei, not the stupid mating-bond. This blazing, burning fury that lit her up from the inside out was all hers. Only the Gwyn who had just won Azriel’s heart could possess an ire so consuming.
“I know it feels normal. It’s going to feel natural,” Nesta said calmly. “The urge to turn the world to ash in order to save him, right? The anger that justifies you going to such extremes. It feels like any other decision. Like you’re choosing what to read for the night.” Lady Death shook her head. “It’s not. Once the haze clears, you may regret what you did in the heat of the moment, Gwyn.”
Gwyn shoved the words away, glowering at her friend now, “Maybe I will regret it.” She took a step forward so they were nearly chest to chest, “But I know I will regret letting Koschei kill Azriel because I was too scared to stand up to you and Rhysand.” -

For the duration of Cassian’s explanation as to what occurred between him and Nesta, Azriel tried not to think about Gwyn.About why she had said nothing to him about it over the past two months of training.
Instead, he kept himself sane with the reminder that she would return tomorrow. Tomorrow he would ask her his questions and he would receive answers. Tomorrow, like Cassian, he would reconcile with his mate. And they would decide how to move forward. -

A Gwynriel/Elucien Two Parter
Pt. 1
“Do you think you’ll ever… want one? A baby, I mean,” Elain asked.
A muscle feathered in Azriel’s jaw, his throat sliding. He’d received this question from a number of people since Nyx’s birth, all of them curious as to how seeing a fae child had reshaped Azriel’s perspective on children. He’d given them all the same noncommittal answer of: “I’ve never considered it really. I’m content as an uncle for the time being.” It was the truth – partly. He’d never really imagined himself as a father, nor what sort of parent he’d be. No one had ever made him ponder the question. Not Morrigan and certainly not Elain.
Pt. 2
Lucien broke the companionable quiet, his voice somber. “Your heart has been broken today, Elain, but it will mend.” He inclined his head in question. “It has before, has it not?”
Struck by his words, Elain could only look at him. This beautiful male with his beautiful words and enduring patience.
She rubbed at the dull ache in her chest absently, then nodded. “It’s taken quite a beating these past few years.”
“Then you must make sure you award such a powerful thing to someone worthy,” he intoned.

But unknown to them, there are other parties on the playing field, also inching ever closer: the violent cult chasing "Mary" and a familiar demon looking to recruit a certain sorcerer.
This takes place after the unaired "Final Girl" episode 1x14 of the Constantine TV show, and ignores the Legends of Tomorrow storyline. Since Constantine is a bi-disaster, there will be lots of innuendos, sexual tension, whump, angst, and hurt/comfort.
