    Summary

The beginning of the end of Akk’s carefully constructed life takes place on a Tuesday morning when transfer student Ayan Sukkhaphisit strides into the classroom with his hair artfully gelled back and an endless supply of teasing looks and sharp words.

Akk's got it all under control.

“Oh?” Ayan asks with a perfectly arched eyebrow. “What’s your soulbond, then, Mr. Head Prefect?”

    ...Nevermind.

“Put your seatbelt on,” Akk says, and he hopes—knows—that Ayan understands that it means ‘hi, I missed you.’ “How was group?”

“It was good.” Ayan smiles. He pauses, not letting out his breath entirely, lips parted, like he’s going to say something else. But a few moments of silence pass by, and Akk almost interrupts to ask Ayan what’s wrong. Finally, like he’s practiced the words enough in his head, Ayan says, “You should come. Sometime. It could… I think it could be good for you.”

Or, Akk struggles in the aftermath of Suppalo. Ayan is there for him, but Akk has to let him be.

‘And if life takes you away from me?’

‘Then I’ll spend every second wishing it’ll find a way to bring me back to you.’

It had been seven years since Akk and Ayan had split up. However, on the edge of turning 30, Akk couldn't help but wish the night away thinking of the only person he had called home.

    Summary

Just a look at some of the things Akk did for his friends that only added to the weight on his shoulders. No one could say he didn't care about them.

"Akk sat there on the edge of the roof in silence, allowing the wind to rush past him. He shouldn’t be up here again – he knew it made Aye anxious. But it was the only place he could be alone. The only place where should he choose to do so would guarantee freedom from everything. From the curse he started – the same one that now haunted him day and night; his actions, those he hurt – could have hurt, and the new curse maker. Whoever had taken over was bound to cast the blame on Akk once everything was revealed. It made sense, Akk was already a monster – a bad guy – why not pile on the blame? After all, wasn’t he responsible for it all anyway?"

Akk first felt a prick in his throat when Ayan was pinning the Suppalo button to his lapel.

(My take on an Akk/Ayan hanahaki au.)
