The Optimus of this universe, instead of being the symbol of wisdom and heroism, is a power-hungry tyrant, obsessed with you and with no plans to let you go. Or, a former employee of Playtime Co, Skye has seen every awful thing the company has done. She was also a doctor who had gotten close to Oliver Ludwig (now known as the Prototype) during her time there.
An unexpected letter from her old workplace draws her back into the decaying factory 10 years later. While Skye ends up losing sight of Poppy in the vents, she ends up crossing paths again with the Prototype; being forced to face their past together in ways they never have.
But better now than never, wasn't it?

Summary
"In his grand design, the end result would always be that he and Poppy were the only ones to live here, eternally, forever. The other toys, being of no further use, would be discarded.
When he was talking to them through “Ollie” though, he learned of their caring and trusting character. They actually just wanted to help here. No malice. The guilt that seemed to drive them was not the kind he had first expected, but rather survivors guilt.
They sided with a toy, namely Poppy, so they were neither scared nor hostile towards them. The startled reaction they had when they had first seen 1170 move and contrary to that shown no reaction to him standing there in the middle of the hall, standing on guard, proved, they didn´t know of any experiments that happened here. Otherwise, they would have immediately turned and looked for help.
They would have brought anything to defend themselves. They would have not walked in here all alone, in the middle of the night. They would have prepared themselves with at least food or something.
They were…innocent.
Once that information had settled in, his mind was circling around about how The Butcher could be of use to him."
