Summary
Homura's was left reeling from her failure to convince her friends about Kyubey's lies. And was convinced that everything was going to go wrong and she would be unable to save Madoka from Walpurgisnacht at the end of the month.
All those thoughts were knocked out of her as Magical Girl from another city crashed into her and sent her to the ground.
Shortly after, Homura considered that maybe, she wasn't without hope yet.

Summary
Mabayu's ending was meant to be rather concise: erase Homura's memory, erase her own memories, and cut. Let the story unfold without her and go on to its intended conclusion.
Shame she hesitated.
But, if she really does let herself be erased and let Madoka ascend, is that really the best ending? Would that leave Homura happy?
Not like she can really change the ending, it's fate, but isn't it worth trying to help a little more?

Akemi Homura had been time-traveling for God knows how long. The timelines blurred the more she reset. Failure after failure, death after death—it was maddening.
Dealing with Miki Sayaka’s stubbornness and constant mistrust was tiring, as was the loneliness surrounding Tomoe Mami, which would so often result in the downfall of the rest of her potential allies, including Madoka.
And then there was Sakura Kyoko—her one consistent ally throughout the timelines. Her fighting abilities were useful fighting Walpurgisnacht—whenever she lived to the day of the fight, that was. Her… rather complicated relationship with Miki Sayaka often brought about her death.
Yet… outside of Madoka, she would often get somewhat close to Sakura Kyoko. The red-haired girl didn’t pry too much into her past, likely due to her own painful past with her wish. Would it do any harm if she were to… recruit her early?
…she was running out of options.
It was there that Homura decided: she’d ally herself with Sakura Kyoko as early as she could in the next timeline.
