Sleep had never been easy for Fig.
Ever since she was little, she’d never slept the way she was supposed to. Mum and Dad would plan their nightly routine around four-hour trances, expecting Fig to follow suit when she got old enough to trance, too. But she never grew out of the eight-hour sleeping phase most elves only had when they were babies.
Fig, just like in every other wood elf custom, was always three steps behind.
