Summary
Steve Harrington has a problem and it seems that Eddie Munson is his only solution.
Nevermind that he has never met Eddie, or that he seems a little weird from what Steve can gather, Steve just needs a place to live that's cheap enough and Eddie is offering exactly that. A roommate in a one-bedroom apartment should be fine. Even if there's only one bed, right? They're never even going to meet each other since they keep opposite schedules.
But Steve can't live with someone he barely knows, he has a weird curiosity about his quirky roommate. He has a genius solution and they begin to communicate through notes.

Summary
"You’re rooming here? When did that happen?"
"Didn't you make the cabin arrangements?" Eddie quips, his eyebrow raised as his head comes to rest between the crux of his arm. Steve closes his eyes, wanting to bang his head on the wall at the memory of Robin's insistence on looking over the cabin arrangements and making any necessary changes. How she asked him a bunch of stupid questions that she knew would keep him sidetracked, eventually handing him back the chart when Steve really got heated in his explanation. How she looked smug as he forgot about checking her handiwork before handing it to Clarke.
"Yeah. Yeah, I guess I did."
Eddie takes in the room. And the fact that there's one queen-sized bed. "Oh. Well, this is unexpected."

Summary
Under a much different circumstance, Eddie would have loved to have Steve’s eyes looking over him like that, would love to have that determination focused on him, but Eddie is very much dying, he knows it, so he smiles at Steve’s misplaced confidence instead, “High expectations, Stevie. Where’d you learn to swing like that anyway?”
“I’ll tell you,” Steve’s voice is a bit shaky, his tone wavering, even as he puts on a brave face, “but you have to stay alive, Munson.”
If he had more strength, he’d consider testing his luck one last time, tease Steve by asking if he swings for Eddie’s team, but- he’s tired.
Dying young. What a fucking nightmare.
Or, what if the Party defeats Vecna in time, and Eddie lives?
