“That’s it?” Jimin pouts. He gives Namjoon a long look, tilts his head, looks coy. “I was hoping for something a little more…interesting.”
Namjoon sighs. If there’s one thing the kid hasn’t got, it’s subtlety.
“You’re wasting your time, Jimin. Aim your dick somewhere else.”
“Too much, too soon?” Jimin chuckles. “Yeah, okay.” He picks up his jacket and curls his hand in a little wave. “I can take a hint. I guess I’ll see you around, hyung.”
Namjoon just shakes his head, waves back. And can’t quite explain it when a smoky curl of regret winds its way around his chest as Jimin gets into a cab and is driven away.

Summary
It is said that a story begins when someone goes on a journey or a stranger comes to town.
But winter is starting, and there aren't a lot of journeys to be going off on, not when the snow is this harsh and the pack is just settling down for the cold months ahead. Namjoon is busy keeping the difficult parts of his life in careful order: his relationship with his pack alpha father, his duty to the wolves that he will one day lead, his friends who have fallen in love despite the impossibility of it. He's doing a pretty good job.
And then Jimin comes to town, and the story begins.
(Or: future pack alpha Namjoon has to mate omega Taehyung in an arranged marriage, but Taehyung is in love with Jeongguk and Namjoon isn't in love with anyone. Jimin is found half-frozen on the outskirts of town, and when Namjoon takes him in and keeps him warm, they all end up in way over their heads.)
