this fic and take of his body (same series) are MASTERFUL characterisations of matt and foggy (not to mention all of the supporting characters. GODDDD). it’s perfectly strange matt behaviour without feeling out of character for even a moment. wonderfulllllll

“How’s this,” Foggy finally says. “When you think you’re healed up enough to go out again, you let me know so I can stay at your place that night.”
Matt opens his mouth to respond, then closes it again, considering. “Won’t that be the least restful time to crash at my apartment?”
“Objectively yes,” Foggy agrees. “But you’re missing the tradeoff: every night that I sleep at home before then, I’ll do it knowing that you’re not out getting your ass kicked.”
Matt and Foggy establish a new routine. It involves a lot of crashing on Matt's couch.

There’s some top 40 earworm blaring over the speakers and it’s horribly grating all of a sudden, somehow, even though Brienne’s definitely heard it before, didn’t mind it one way or the other until right now. “Didn’t you say he loved you?”
“He did,” Brienne promises her. “He does.”

This is really and truly a *VERY LONG* comfort piece. A very, very long comfort piece, maybe even a psychological profile of their relationship. There are so many (fantastically written) tragic stories on here involving these two, and I love reading those, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to make one that was devoid of any and all heartbreak.Series
