Summary
PLEASE NOTE: this is re-write and expansion of the original tale that I posted previously. If you read my "I am Yours, and You are Mine" re-write, this will be a very similar process in that I'll go chapter-by-chapter, updating in order. Except this story will likely be significantly expanded, so you probably shouldn't read ahead of the updated chapters into the original chapters as they may potentially not line up any longer. Hope you enjoy!!

AU where the Northern Territories and Rosaria have been at war for a few years, with the two war Eikons, Shiva and Ifrit, as the centerpieces of battle. But what happens when their Dominants are stranded in the wilderness together? No Eikons. No political or battlefield maneuvers to guide them. They only have each other and an unexpected attraction to their greatest enemy.
While the Eikons exist, as does magic, there is no Ultima, Blight, Curse or Mothercrystals in this.

Summary
After an unexplained evolutionary leap, the sexes are altered considerably. Women are stronger and have more intelligence, but are infertile, they lead the world keeping the three male sexes oppressed.
Males are split between Alphas, Betas and Omegas. The Omega are the child bearers. The Alpha's are much stronger and impregnate the Omegas (they are not as strong as the women). The Betas are infertile and very rare, they are seen as useless by the women.
The series concentrates on one family watching them overcome adversity and loss in the oppressive world that they have found themselves.- Words:

His calcifying heart twinged at the thought of Cid.
'Do you see, Cid?' he thought as his vision failed like the rest of his broken body, the curse creeping over his flesh like the malignant thing it was. 'It’s done. I did it for you, for everyone. I just wish you could see it.'
The water lapped around him, under him, lifting him off the damp sand slightly, his heart beat struggling in a chest turning rapidly to stone.
'He knows, Mythos,' a voice he didn’t recognise echoed in his head, though he felt like he should, soothing, gentle like the waves lifting him. Then; 'quickly, quickly, we have but a moment.'
NOW! Another voice rumbled, this one familiar, urgent.
