Summary
Nat, against her better judgement, took Jackies warm, soft hands into hers and pulled her up into a sitting position. “I’ll make you a deal. I make sure you become as cool and interesting as possible and beat the fate that Shauna so nicely laid out for you, and in return you promise to shut up about her forever okay. I can’t take any more of this love-sick heartbroken rambling, and it’s barely been three hours.” Jackie looked slightly startled by this but started nodding along after a second.
“Great, then let’s get up and find you someone to bang before college truly starts because you’re right, you should not show up here a virgin.”

Summary
Rumi just wanted to survive her job and maybe reduce a little stress, not get emotionally wrecked by a yoga class.
But thanks to her unhinged best friend Zoey (who may or may not be trying to play matchmaker), she ends up in a studio led by Mira, a stunning, graceful, slightly mysterious yoga goddess who smells like lavender and has thighs that could end empires.
Rumi tries to play it cool. She fails. Spectacularly.
What starts with awkward stretching and Rumi trying very hard not to stare, turns into deep conversations, accidental body contact, gay panic, dancing, full emotional breakdowns and very flexible sex. Yes, there’s crying. Yes, there’s touching. No, not in that order.
But with honesty, a little sweat and a lot of Zoey screaming, Rumi finally learns what it means to let someone in and to stop running from what (and who) makes her heart feel safe.
Also, yoga? Kinda life-changing. 10/10 would bend again.Bookmarked by Doublefiction

Summary
It was Shauna’s fault, in retrospect.
Not the Brown thing. She'd applied for the scholarship, got through multiple stages of applying, interviewed for it, but it went to someone else. Someone who wasn't in a plane crash so they didn't have the sympathy card that she did, but they did have the ability to make it to the final interview because they weren't stranded in Canada.
Shit happens, and Shauna had spent a few days screaming and crying and tearing things into pieces, but Rutgers is a good enough backup, and she can think about transferring after first year.
The thing that was Shauna's fault was not requesting a room swap.
Because she had filled out the form with Jackie, before the Brown admission and the plane crash and the wilderness, saying that she was happy to be Jackie's roommate. And she hadn't checked that the form had been trashed before she got her room assignment.
Which is how her ex-best friend, who had stopped speaking to her barely four months into their nineteen month stay in the Canadian Wilderness, was standing in their shared dorm room at Rutgers.
'Hey, Shipman,' Jackie Taylor had smirked, 'looks like we're roomies.'
