Summary
He gritted his teeth. “What do you mean “why?” You abandoned El Rapids for your perfect little mushroom town! There wasn’t really any point to keeping it standing when nobody lived there.”
George furrowed his eyebrows. “But didn’t you leave as well?”
“Las Nevadas is different,” he said, turning his head away so he didn’t have to meet his eyes. “I built it for all of us. It was you guys that left.”
The “me” at the end went unspoken. He hoped that George heard it anyway.
When Las Nevadas crumbles into nothing, Quackity makes one last visit to L'Manburg and he finds George sleeping at the foot of the El Rapids sign. In an attempt to bring him home, he ends up getting dragged along on an adventure through the new world and, in the process, both of them are able to face some truths that they've been avoiding.
