    Summary

Set almost immediately after "A Dream (A Wish Your Heart Makes)"

Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson have been reunited after their harrowing time apart. Now that the two of them have cemented their love for one another it's only natural that promises made during conversation while they zoomed through a barren hellscape in the back of his Uncle Wayne's truck be fulfilled.

“I’m taking you to see the fish,” Eddie announced suddenly, unable to keep from blurting out his intentions, “So don’t make any plans this Sunday.”

    Summary

Steve Harrington now spent most of his nights sitting in his room, unable to maintain the basic presentation of being “fine” any longer. He held onto whatever bottle of alcohol that would be his companion for that evening and would tip it back with a desperation that he felt grateful no one could see. It was once he was numb enough to not feel anything at all, that he would finally close his eyes and sleep.

“You think this is a dream?”

    Steve blinked.

    “It is. I’m asleep.”

Eddie shook Steve, as if he was trying to rattle some loose cog in the machine that is Steve’s brain.

Steve Harrington is somehow caught up in the world of Upside Down, and Eddie Munson is there and alive. He’s changed, Eddie has been turned into a monster, and Steve is determined to save him. No matter what price.

    Summary

Robin gripped the counter, blowing hair out of her face. “Steve Harrington, I am going to kill you.”
“Not with those chicken arms,” he said with a smirk. His brown eyes found Eddie again and his smile only grew bigger. “I bet I could even lift Eddie.”
Nancy stopped rubbing Robin’s shoulder. “Steve, don’t get cocky,” she warned.
But he was already finding his way around the counter, gaze locked on the metalhead. Eddie swallowed, eyes meeting Robin’s through her bangs. She shook her head, knowing Steve was relentless once he got an idea. She gave him one warning: “run.”

Set some time after they've traversed the upside down. No one died and no one got seriously injured. Just some dumb idiots figuring their shit out.

    Summary

Soulmates sense when their other half is injured, a shadow of the pain sustained during injury used to spark urgency to protect their mate. It begins when you’ve met your soulmate, but is gradual. Eddie feels Steve being attacked by the demo bats, and Steve finds out much later.

The image of a battle-hardened King Steve Harrington was doing very inconvenient things to him. More importantly, though, the pain. The pain that faded once Steve was on his feet, and the pressing matter became escape rather than battle.

    Summary

“I think I’m being stalked.” Steve mentally smacks himself as soon as the words leave his mouth. He grimaces instead when Robin stops so suddenly that she drops the top book from the comically large stack she’s carrying to the front display. She carefully sets the rest down, turns, then responds so loudly it makes Steve flinch, “What?!”

Hell, he can't even convince himself.

But then everything changes when the stalking shadow he assumed was all a part of his imagination begins killing those around him. With all the death and blood and gore, he realizes that maybe living isn't so bad.
