"Where are you from?" Sev asks, keeping his voice warm and welcoming the way he does to get a client to open up. The elf doesn’t need encouragement, but it’s a habit that’s hard to break. He traces the crease between the elf’s thigh and hip with his thumb.
"Tevinter," the elf replies. Sev could have guessed that by the accent alone. "Minrathous, if you want to be more specific."
"You’re a long way from home,” Sev remarks. “What brings you out to the jewel of the coast?"
The elf shrugs. "Just a job. I’m escorting someone on a man-hunt."
"Find your quarry?"
"Not yet." The elf's eyes darken. "There's another mark that's caught my eye."
There's another companion to be recruited to the Veilguard. Sasha "Rook" Mercar is in desperate need of allies after the fall of Minrathous. With enemies piling up on all fronts, he turns to the warrior he met while on the hunt for Solas -- someone he hasn't been able to stop thinking about since that first fateful meeting.
A Rook/Companion fic in which TheTimelyTraveler and I smash our boys together like ken dolls.

Bull couldn’t remember ever seeing her hair down before. Normally she kept it pinned up or braided, as it made it easier to move quickly when they were traveling. It always looked so short in the braid... Now that he saw all of it loose, however, Bull was surprised at the length. The drying locks cascaded down her shoulder and over her tunic, obscuring the way the wet cloth clung to her skin rather immodestly - though Bull supposed his cotton pants were probably doing something similar to him.
