The boy snarled, grey eyes flashing, and Gustave took another step back at the display of furiosity. Blood was splattered across his face and a gash carved its way over his left eye. Gustave felt like prey, pinned under the gaze of a predator.
“Move,” Verso snapped.
“What?” Gustave struggled to understand the word beyond the threat it held.
“Run.” Verso lunged at him.
