The silence that follows lasts just long enough for Eddie to think the conversation is abruptly over, but then he hears the lock click, and Buck’s voice saying, “Don’t laugh,”
When he opens the door, all he sees is Buck, shirtless, standing next to the sink, his face bright red. Eddie scans him quickly, ensuring he has all limbs in tact, and then—
Then he spots it.
A trail of white fluid dripping down his torso, seemingly coming from—
“Uh. My doctor said it’s the new medication we’re trying,” Buck coughs, moves to cross his arms in front of himself, stops, fumbles with them for a bit, clearly not sure what to do with his hands. He ends up stuffing them in his pockets, shoulders hunched, face getting even redder, “It activates that hormone that starts with a P… pro-whatever. It can stimulate. Uh. Lactation. In men,”
Ah, Eddie thinks, lightheaded suddenly, it wasn’t spilled beer, then.

Summary
Now, Buck’s backyard and home are bustling with the 118 family – the younger kids running around in various levels of Easter Best, the first generation watching with fond amusement, the parents sitting back with drinks and letting the older kids play unpaid babysitter.
It’s nice. It’s loud and a little chaotic and someone’s probably going to get a skinned knee before the end of the day and it’s nice. Eddie wants for more days like this.

“Look,” Buck says. “It’s not like I-I’m gonna move back in or anything, but you're still in pain. A lot of it, and I know you’re trying to downplay it—don’t look at me like that—so just let me help out with stuff for a couple days.”
Eddie quirks his lip at him. “You wanna rub ointment on my cast rash?"
“Who else would,” Buck says. It was supposed to be a question, lighthearted, but it’s just there. It hangs in the air, a miasma of all of Buck’s fully-realized feelings stinking up the place.
It’s gonna be a long six to eight weeks.
Three months after Buck moves out and two days after Buck realizes he’s in love, Eddie gets badly injured on the job. Buck unofficially moves back in to look after him.
He’s gonna be normal about it.
