Summary
Growing up, Rumi never truly understood how dangerous, how cruel Demons were, despite Celine's teachings. After all, if her mother, a woman that was taught and trained to hate Demons as much as Celine does, could fall in love with one, and bare that Demon's child, they couldn't all be bad, right? Some had to have been led astray by Gwi-ma coming to them at their lowest points with poisoned promises and lies.
It never occurred to Rumi that some of Gwi-ma's Demons didn't lose their souls because they were tricked... but because they never had one to begin with.

And then Rumi - fuck she was still processing Rumi. Rumi was… a demon? How? How was it possible? How had they not known? Why had she kept this so secret? So many things suddenly made sense - why Rumi had always insisted on a private dressing room for herself. Why she never went to the bathhouse with them. Why she insisted on long sleeves always, even under the blazing heat of stage lights. Everything she’d just excused as Rumi being Rumi - so much of it had been her fear dictating her reality. Despite the joy of this moment, she was hit with an overwhelming wave of sadness for her friend. A warm pain starting at her stomach and rising up, into her chest and down her arms.
