The man flung the door open with a flourish, turning to the girls with a huge, toothy smile.
“Good morning!” He announced.
Robin died a bit inside, she had no energy for this today. She fixed her face.
“Hello, how are you?”
“Good! I am good,” said this new man, warmly. Robin hadn’t seen him in here before. He was quite a bit taller than her, a few mousy brown curls escaping out under his beanie. Or toque, as the Canadians called them. Which she wasn’t sure this man was, as a thick accent clung to his words spoken so far. He was pale with a smattering of moles around his face, wide blue eyes taking in the offerings of the shop. Maybe European?

Summary
It starts, as most things do, for completely wholesome and safe for work reasons. Shane just wants to help his boyfriend destress a little, and maybe find a few ways for Shane himself to relax a bit more.
However, as most things involving Ilya Rozanov tend to do, those wholesome and safe for work reasons quickly spiral into something hotter and darker that makes Shane shamefully hard, and that's all before he's even asked Ilya to hypnotize him into some mindless plaything. Fuck.

Or: After a social media trend mocks Shane's sexting skills, he tries to improve them. It goes about as poorly as you'd expect.

“You want to talk to people about me?” Shane asked quietly.
There was something small and confused in the question. But Ilya was still furious and raw.
“Well I would,” he sneered, “if there was anything about you that was fucking interesting to talk about! It would be nice to not be so fucking bored and miserable!”
The second the words left his mouth, he watched the pain roll across Shane's features like a thousand fractures shattering through glass.
Ilya had seen Shane nearly break ribs. He had seen him miss game-winning shots, take hits that left bruises blooming purple and black across his skin. He had never seen this.
Shane closed his eyes for a long moment. He shook his head slightly, a tiny movement, then nodded once as if agreeing with something only he could hear. His face twisted briefly with a fresh wave of pain before he forced it to still.

What if Shane and Ilya don't make up so easily after the Boxing Day fight? The Centaur's plane never malfunctions, so Shane never proposes. Instead, Ilya gives him an ultimatum on coming out and going public. It backfires spectacularly.
