    Summary

The Pride & Prejudice AU you didn't know you needed.

When he returned to Verso, he did not hesitate.
"She could not go through with it," he said in a rush, keeping his voice low enough that only Verso could hear. "The engagement. I offered to take her place. I know this is irregular, I know you have every right to refuse, but I am asking you—"
Verso's hand tightened on his waist, and Gustave's words died in his throat.
"Why?" Verso asked, his pale eyes fixed on Gustave's face with unsettling intensity.
"Why you?" he clarified, his voice quiet but intent. "Why sacrifice yourself for her?"
The question caught Gustave off guard. He opened his mouth, closed it again, searching for the right words.
"Because she is my sister," he said simply. "And I would do anything for her."

In Belle Époque France, an old promise binds two families. When the promised bride refuses, her brother steps forward instead—binding himself to a man shaped by pride and expectation. What begins as duty unfolds into a slow reckoning with choice, restraint, and the dangerous intimacy of wanting what you were never supposed to have.

    Summary

“Mark me,” Verso demanded against Gustave’s mouth. “I want to feel it tomorrow.”
Gustave’s eyes flashed. Then his mouth was on Verso’s throat, teeth scraping, biting, and the sharp pain made Verso gasp.
Gustave’s nails raked down Verso’s back, scratching hard enough to draw blood. Marking him, like he wanted . Claiming him.
And Verso loved the violence. Loved the proof that this was real, that Gustave wanted him enough to leave marks.

The Fracture Zone is where people are sent to die.
Painters and Writers, enemies for five hundred years, embark on expeditions to reach the Monolith. None survive—until Expedition 33.
Gustave Virlogeux has lost almost everything, and his grief has turned to rage.
Verso Dessendre is already dead inside. The perfect weapon, buried so deep under control he can't remember what feeling looks like.
They've been circling each other for years: enemies on the battlefield, strangers in the dark.
Until one desperate choice binds them in forbidden magic, and suddenly they can't hide anymore.
They'll learn that some connections are stronger than hatred, and that some enemies were never meant to be enemies at all.

    Summary

    Verso Dessendre doesn't do romance.

He's fine by himself, really. He rarely needs anyone else other than his best friend, Sciel, to keep him company. Navigating the dating pool is a minefield on the best of days, especially for a man of his wealth and status, and wounds from the past keep his heart on a lock and key. He finds his pleasure by himself, and pours his frustrations with the world into the music he composes for a living. It's enough for him, most of the time. But somehow, some way, Sciel manages to convince him to start the search for a dominant, if only just to blow off some extra steam.

    It doesn't go well.

Months later, Verso's just about to give up--before Sciel presses him to meet with one of her friends who's looking to get back into the scene. He relents, if only out of curiosity, and allows her to tell him more.

He's finds out quickly that he's not even remotely prepared for what comes with Gustave Auclair. Not one bit.
