The first time, Hannibal had been woefully underprepared. He’d had over-sharers before, usually lonely men and women for whom confession was their only chance to talk and know someone was really listening. None of them matched the man.
“Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been 16 years since my last confession.”
“May the Lord be in your heart and help you to confess your sins with true sorrow.”
“Wouldn’t He know if I were lying then?” the man asked, and Hannibal had to pause a moment to orient himself again. “That I wasn’t sorrowful in my confessions,” he clarified. Hannibal swallowed.
“He will see your contrition, however it may present itself.”
“Well, shit, I’m not contrite either,” came the amused answer.

“That’s a pretty good bedside manner, Dr. Lecter,” Will murmured.
“I’ve never received a complaint,” Hannibal replied without flinching as he smoothed the sheets over Will’s stomach. “Though I am a bit out of practice.”
“It’s like riding a bike.”
Hannibal smiled mildly. “And being my patient? Is that like riding a bike, Will?”
Their eyes finally met again, and Will felt the tickle of danger on his flesh once more that made his breath quicken. He should have been ashamed of himself, but shame — that burden that he had carried for so long — felt far away, a rotting carcass at the bottom of an ocean.
“Something like that,” he said.
[When Will catches a tropical virus, it's an opportunity for Hannibal to play doctor again - only this time Will isn't content to let him hide behind the guise of medicine.]

Will's eyes skim up and down Hannibal's body in lewd strokes, gaze catching on the specialty black high heels curled around Hannibal's feet. Will's arousal is already starting to tent his pants. His eyes grow predatory and dark as they skim up Hannibal's bare calves, his bare thighs, all the way until his view is obscured by light pink frills and cherry red ribbons.
The high heels had to be custom ordered. The apron too, with its plaid pink design and cherry embroidery. The apron only meets mid-thigh, length made risqué by the pleats that line the lower portion. The top part barely covers his nipples, chest hair peaking out in a swath of silver—not that Will seems to mind.
The apron is perhaps more feminine than Hannibal prefers, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
When Will becomes distracted by a new killer on the block, Hannibal resorts to drastic measures to regain his husband's attention.

Adam watches the man pinch the bridge of his nose, head and graying blond locks falling forward. Something flips in Adam’s stomach. He blinks rapidly, gaze flitting over the broad shoulders, clothed in a black dress shirt with a sleeve that rests around a thick bicep.
The stomach flipping happens again. Adam speaks before he realizes he’s going to do it.
