Summary
After the breakup in LTBC, Eddie starts to feel out of place and lonely. He makes the dumb decision to go out drinking.
He never expected to be hit on by someone of the same sex. He also never considered the possibility, that a simple ‘no thanks’ would warrant such an explicit response.
He’s drugged, taken to a place where he can provide someone else’s pleasure, and beaten to the brink of death. He’s left for dead.
The symbiote doesn’t know what’s happened, it’s still hopping from one incompatible person to the next. It’s not until it makes its way to the man who took advantage of Eddie, that it touches his mind only find some disturbing imagery.
Anger immediately forgotten and differences pushed aside, the symbiote’s protectiveness takes over. It’s got to find Eddie. It only hopes it can make it there in time to reverse the damage.

Summary
Eddie lashes out in anger a lot because of fear and his own frustrations. And one of those fears is, apparently, falling in love with the alien wrapped around his organs. He tries to hide it, thinking it’s this horrible thing he shouldn't be feeling. That, and the thought that said alien could ever reciprocate what he feels should be laughable. So Eddie hides everything behind his anger and tries to keep to himself.
That is, until his symbiote decides to pry everything out of him.
Imagine Eddie’s surprise when he realizes a lot of the negative emotions between them could have been solved by him just giving in without being a prick about his own inner struggles and allowing his symbiote to reciprocate.

Summary
Cloud finds a good friend in Zack, but as their differences grow, maybe Cloud proves to be more of a hinderance than he thought. Their time apart grows. One day while Zack is at the labs for testing and Cloud is out on patrol they decide to meet up and hang out.
But Zack does not come to him as the same person he thought he was. From there it's all downhill as Cloud soon discovers the real reason Zack decided to contact him. And he's not sure he likes the idea.
Has Shinra done something to Zack to make him react this way, or was this what was hidden underneath all along?

Summary
Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)
Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.
And they argue.
