“Though,” Blitzø says, pausing when he’s only a foot away from the owl. Their height difference is vast, but still somehow Stolas feels like the smaller one. “I never see you swimming, birdy. Seems like a waste to have such a nice pool and never use it.”
“Ah, I don’t actually like to swim all that much,” Stolas explains, voice getting breathier as he goes on. His talons fidget with the book in his hands and he moves to hold it over his chest.
“A shame,” Blitzø says. “Was wondering how you’d look all wet.” His eyes cut down and back up quickly and his smile is sharp, the edges of fangs nearly sparkling in the sun. The tip of his tongue pokes out of his mouth, the end forked.
Or: a different second meeting occurs when Blitzø is hired to tend Stolas' new pool.

Blitzø shakes his head and his expression changes, lifting into something more confident. Large hands go to the middle of his robe, deft claws untying the knot there to release the fabric. He shrugs the robe off, the garment falling down in what feels like slow motion because he is completely, utterly bare underneath.

The next time he saw him, he was in Colorado getting some mountain air while he worked on the outline for his next book. He'd gotten into the position for the ski lift and by the time his feet were off the ground, he realized he was not alone.
