    It dominates my every thought, it is the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning, the last thing I do before I sleep. My brain chemistry has been permanently altered. I Hear A Symphony by Cody Fry is a sad song to me now. What *happened*?

    Crazy I love it. would be fun to try and run IRL, though ofc the player wouldn't be able to actually go for two years straight... probably three or four performances a day, matinee weekend, once or twice a year?

    Nosks are an intelligent species to a degree - as they're still rather feral in nature and incredibly territorial - and they have their own secret society in Deepnest. Given that they have proximity to the Pale King, it was inevitable for them to gain minds and sapience... but they still retain a hostile nature to them.
    They morph and contort their bodies into makeshift lures, baiting unfortunate bugs into their traps and devouring them without a second thought. Before infection struck, they could even mimic voices.
    Hunting is all that matters. Providing food is all that matters. Your territory is all that matters.

    One Nosk in particular, however, does not share in that sentiment.
    While sure, attachments to others are unnecessary and strength is incredibly important in survival... why can't a Nosk be more than a ruthless animal? Why can't they gain honor outside of their kin? Why can't everyone know one Nosk's name?
    Why can't a Nosk be a knight?

    Better yet... a knight of great renown?
    Hmm. He likes the sound of that.

    In which Mumbo crosses several towns, learns some creative methods of self-defense, fights some monsters, sees things no human is meant to have seen, befriends a stranger, steals multiple cars, has inconvenient moral scruples, grows increasingly terrified of his own culpability in the apocalypse, grows a spine, blows up at least one building, accidentally prevents a murder, and attempts to find his best friend in the futile but ever-burning hope the man’s still alive.

    He has to say, he’s so exhausted and terrified that he thinks he might just be mad?

    (OR: the one where, after most of humanity turns into a series of terrifying monsters, Mumbo decides he’s going to risk his life on an apocalypse road trip to try to find out if Grian is alive. Things, as you might imagine, devolve from there.)
