Shelby and Toni haven't seen each other in over six years. Not since Shelby randomly packed her bags and left, and Toni came home from work to find a note with five words written on it, "I'm sorry. I love you. - S".
Now, with Shelby headlining a book tour and Toni working a catering job, the two find themselves crossing paths and revisiting chapters of their past they'd thought were closed. Toni still feels defeated over the lack of closure and Shelby simply wants to make amends, though she doesn't know where to start. Even after all of this time, maybe their flame isn't quite burnt out.

Shelby was Fort Travis’ star Tennis champ while Toni is captain of Hopewell Lake’s football/soccer team. They both make it to the University of Florida on D1 sports scholarships in the Fall of 2021. As the football field runs up against the tennis courts and their classes overlap here and there, the two are thrust into one another’s worlds. As they get to know each other, however, they find they share a competitive drive and maybe a few more things.
