Zane turned, giving his bed a glance, but instead he bit back a shriek, jolting when he saw two electric blue eyes narrowed at him through the darkness.
His own electric blue eyes.
Well, electric was a stretch. They flickered, and the lights within them were surely dim and dying. But he wasn’t exactly focused on the details, and instead he was staring, shocked, at a terrible, horrible, awful reflection of himself. Though the figure wasn’t wearing his signature heavy armor, his long hair and sharp antlers gave Zane all the information he needed.
The Ice Emperor.
The Ice Emperor was here, in Zane’s room, standing just where he had been sitting in front of his door. Blocking his only exit. Not making a sound, not moving.

Joel knew his day was going to crap the moment he opened his eyes. The light that shines through his blinds had him wincing at the intensity. A headache was already brewing inside, the light only adding on the pain. He rolled over to block out the light, choking out a gasp. Joel’s entire body ached. His muscles screamed at him, the pounding behind his eyes didn’t help either. Joel cringed at his dumb reality, he was sick.

They raised an eyebrow in amusement. “You look absolutely terrible.”
Etho covered his face with an arm to block out the light. “...Thanks,” he muttered. “I feel terrible.” Cleo had to stifle a laugh at how muffled and pathetic his voice sounded.
Alright, whatever’s going on with me can wait. Etho’s suffering seems worse.
