"Hey." Her voice was softer as she looked at him, trying to figure out what he wanted. Staring at her wall, his eyes were unfocused, despite her call. She gulped hard. "Are you alright?"
Only then did his head turn towards her, and inky black eyes met hers only illuminated by the blue tinge that tainted her room.
"Not quite," he said calmly as if it didn't make her blood freeze in her veins.
Her hand darted towards the lamp on her nightstand, turning it on with a click. He squinted his eyes at the garish yellow light, but her gaze went down instantly.
A large gash on his torso, made by a blade, dripped vivid crimson blood on her sheets.

after a moment, bum takes his hand. he slips the band over sangwoo’s ring finger, and sangwoo feels the smoke start to clear.
he takes a short breath, and the taste of metal is gone.
once he’s gotten a taste for it, he can’t help but take another breath. a longer, deeper breath that relieves some of the tension from his shoulders when he exhales.
he laughs, flexing his fingers. “it’s nice.”
