Summary

In doing so, they learn just what kind of upbringing their little cowboy really had to deal with. And for a certain fox monster, it makes her reflect on how she treated them in the Underground.

Summary
Clover's hands were sweaty. Consequently, their grip weakened and there was no escape.
Their worn shield dropping to the ground, Axis' weapons circling around in a circle, their breathing cutting off as the intense white light aimed at them from all their flanks.
No noise, no explosions, the bright light stops blinding them to disappear in an instant.
Pain explodes in their chest and Clover can't breathe.
Not a second later, an internal crackle makes them collapse.
[Or also, Axis kills Clover. Ceroba finds the scene.]
