(Or: how the Hatake can either be born naturally or planted from a Hatake tooth, an offering of the flesh and the clan's White chakra.)
Alternatively known as that AU where the Hatake are actually Agricultural Experts and the Mokuton is an actual bloodline limit.
Will oscillate between humor and tragedy. Also full of (mostly Hatake) OCs alongside canon characters. I also don't take any of the pairings seriously, so some may not be to your taste.

- Shiroki (white sake presented as an offering to the gods) [白酒] - supposedly the first Hatake, a very pretty samurai-turned-farmer with more missing teeth than scars
- Setsugen no Shiroi-shi (white death of the snowfield) [雪原の白い死] - Shiroki's previous identity as Yaken's partner
- Senjou no Yaken (stray dog of the battlefield) [戦場の 野犬] - the previous moniker of Hatake no Yaken
- Hatake no Yaken (stray dog of the farmlands) [畑の 野犬] - a mysterious nameless samurai from Shiroki's past
- Kama (sickle) [鎌] - a Hatake elder who was once the shinobi clan head
- Suki (plough) [鋤] - one of Shiroki's daughters
- Tōgarashi (chili pepper) [唐辛子] - Shiroki's son who was among the first of the Hatake shinobi and has a very rare fire affinity
- Kabocha (winter squash) [南瓜] - one of Shiroki's sons and father of Shiso; the prodigy of the first generation of Hatake

Summary
Konan's burnt-gold eyes settle upon him from the very end of the conference table as he enters the room, her gaze as heavy upon him as Jeishi's is upon her, but the sensation of having a hole bored into his forehead subsides after a moment when Konan clears her throat and pairs of eyes slowly turn to fall upon Jeishi in turn until all are settled upon him, the cacophony of the room having long subsided in favor of heavy silence. He's lucky that Konan is here; none of these people were made for bureaucracy and polite meetings.
That's why they're all here, with Akatsuki, in the end.
"Comrades. There is much work to be done," Jeishi states with a thin, wan smile on his face, "And little time to do it."
