Summary
Ellie returns to the Salt Lake City Hospital and finds the recording uncovering all the lies that Joel has spent 2 years telling her. Angry and frustrated she sets off to find the remaining Fireflies in the hopes of finishing what she started.
Nothing prepares her for finding the WLF instead and their war against the Scars with no Fireflies in sight. Still angry with Joel and not wanting to return to Jackson, she decides to stay in Seattle and join the WLF where she makes some surprising friends, even if her new roommate can be a bit of a bitch sometime at least she is hot right?
Determined to make a new place for herself Ellie never excepts to step foot in Jackson again. That is until her new group of friends plan to go finish some busy there and Ellie's two worlds collide in the worst way possible.

Summary
Ellie has learned that there is truly no going home again. Alone and with no place to go, she decides to seek out the Fireflies in the hopes of finding some other way to do her part to end the cordyceps fungus infection for good. She quickly discovers that Abby and Lev have also joined the ranks of the Fireflies, and she has no choice but to work with them on a dangerous mission that is humanity's last hope.

Summary
From her spot on the sandy beach, Ellie can perfectly see the domed building at the edge of Catalina Island. It stands tall and proud with mountains in front and behind. It has white walls and distinct reddish rooftops, and flags surrounding the roof.
Maybe it's all in her head, but she thinks about how Avalon looks like a sanctuary. The scenery and architecture are so amazing that it looks straight out of a brochure. But that's exactly what makes her more skeptical.
She imagined the Fireflies to regroup in an abandoned, sketchy apartment — similar to Boston.
"Ellie." Her name echoes from Abby's chapped lips. Ellie cranes her head slightly, making eye-contact with the blonde girl. She hadn't realized how far Lev and Abby walked as she just stood here lost in thought.
"C'mon," Abby says, urging her to continue with a nod of her head. There's a knowing look on her face as she stares at her. One of understanding.
With one last longing glance in the distance, Ellie follows her and leaves their boat behind.

"I remember you."
Ellie's head snaps up and over to where a girl's voice comes from, and she immediately regrets it when the world sways and her vision blurs.
"You're that girl from Jackson," the girl's bleary lips move, forming words that take Ellie a second to process. The name of Ellie's hometown back in Wyoming rings alarms in her head. How the fuck would anyone know that? She squints her eyes further, desperately trying to see who is chained up to the wall opposite from her. Is it one of Abby's friends? That's the only way someone would remember her.
When Ellie finally gets a good look at the girl's face, her heart pounds and her skin boils as white-hot rage floods through her body.
It's her.
"Abby." The name spills from Ellie's lips, sounding like a threat. She doesn't say her name with any ounce of uncertainty. She knows it's her. How could she ever forget that face? The face of Joel's killer that has haunted her nightmares for months.
(OR Ellie is captured by Scars on her third day in Seattle and thrown into the same cell as Abby.)

Held back by Owen’s arms Abby thrashed. Her sobs echoed in the surgical suite as fellow mourning Fireflies looked on. She begged her father to stand but Dr. Anderson remained bleeding, unmoving. As she stilled, her cries caught in her throat and she forced the words out. "Who would do this?”

Evidently, no one could tell her. After piecing together the available information, all she knew was that she was looking for a male smuggler. Not much to go off. Someone said he came from Boston, like Marlene. Someone else said the guy was from a settlement in Jackson.

After joining the WLF, Abby threw herself into her training and her purpose as a soldier. To push away her guilt, every Scar she slaughtered or tortured, she saw as her father's killer. It felt like enough, until 5 years passed and she finally got a new lead, causing her to uproot her old Firefly crew to track down the smuggler.
Mostly according to video game canon, some borrowed details from the TV show. Canon diverges after Abby and Owen's fight before Jackson.
