“Me? In love with farmer Misty? That’s insane!” Sebastian draws in more smoke from his cigarette, before shakily exhaling. Sam has been pestering him for months to just tell him who he likes. How juvenile, how invasive of his private thoughts. Just then, Misty comes by, carrying her pickaxe and making her way back to the mines. She’s wearing nothing special, just a boring gray shirt and black pants. Yet, she is still the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on. As she passes by, she waves to them, a smile beaming and lighting up her eyes.
“She always seems much more friendlier when you’re around Seb.” Sam whispers and elbows him gently at his side. “Yeah, yeah. Mere coincidence. For all we know she could be head over heels for you.” Sebastian retorts sharply, dropping his cigarette and extinguishing it with his shoe. For a moment, it seems that Sam has dropped his line of questioning to move on to songs for their upcoming first gig. But Sebastian can’t hear a thing.
