Tenya can remember when Present Mic came out as bisexual on his radio show a few years back - the backlash was immediate. News outlets all over the place complaining about how Present Mic’s radio show was supposed to be for all ages, including kids, but he was bringing up an adult topic like this? And hadn’t he recently been hired as a UA teacher? Was he really someone they wanted their future heroes learning from?
And sure, it's been a few years since then and the whole thing ultimately blew over without Present Mic ever taking that much of a hit to his ratings, and Tenya knows his parents and his friends wouldn't care necessarily, but it's still frightening to imagine being the center of that kind of media attention. Terrifying to think that the secret that could end his career before it's even started is that he's in love with a boy, not that he once tried to murder a man.
A story in which Iida Tenya deals with dating Bakugo Katsuki, juggling two separate friend groups, a teacher that knows him far too well, someone he loves getting horribly injured again, and the prospect of admitting he's gay. Somehow, dating Bakugo is the easy part.

Visions of hopeful, scarlet eyes smiling at Eijirou as they soared through the sky, filled his mind; only for that smile to immediately falter. Black goop burst forth from Bakugou’s mouth as he coughed and gagged. The hand that had reached for Eijirou’s slipped; fingertips brushed against his palm. Bakugou's cheeks flushed red, tears leaked from the corners of his eyes. He clawed at his throat as he fell out of the air towards the ground, out of Eijirou’s reach, until the black goop of the teleportation quirk consumed him. At the same time, the villains disappeared into the warp gate forced open by All for One on the ground. All hope for the future hero erased right before their eyes. Bakugou was gone, their rescue mission a failure, and Eijirou screamed.

Every hero remembers their first failed attempt to save a life. Usually, it means that life is snuffed out, never to be seen again. Unfortunately for Eijirou, his greatest failure has also become his greatest enemy. One failed rescue mission set about a course that no one could have foreseen, and the lofty goals of one determined student, were replaced with vengeance and destruction.

“Katsuki.” The hero’s voice was softer this time, he placed his other hand on his opposite shoulder. God how pathetic must I look to make him wear that expression? The concern was still there, but the man was clearly trying to steady Katsuki. When had he started shaking? He was trembling like a leaf. What the fucking hell is wrong with me today? They were alone in the room, just the two of them. It was silent, except for the two of them. It was like they were wrapped up in their own little world, apart from the rest of reality.
Why is he acting so nice, why the actual hell is he being so nice?
Stuff like this doesn’t normally bother me. Why now?
